En route to our Nation’s capital is Canada’s first capital city – Kingston. Nicknamed the Limestone City, Kingston is famous for its local heritage and limestone buildings. It’s brimming with attractions and museums, making it the ideal weekend getaway for couples and families.

While planning your trip, one of the first things to nail down is a way there. If you’re interested in taking a train, your CAA Travel Consultant can assist you in booking your pass with VIA Rail. This is a great option as Members save up to 20%. Then solidify your stay with either the Four Points by Sheraton or Delta Hotels by Marriott Kingston Waterfront where CAA Members save 5% or more.

Alternatively, you could also drive your RV and stay in a local campground. This includes 1000 Islands Kingston KOA and Rideau Acres Campground. Should you choose this option, remember to upgrade your Membership to include coverage on your motorhomes or campers for an additional $88/year.1

Day One in Kingston

Once you’ve arrived and settled in, explore the city with the hop-on, hop-off Kingston Trolley Tour.

After dinner, join a guided Haunted Walk of Kingston or Ghost & Mystery Trolley for a spooky look into Kingston’s history.

Day Two in Kingston

Following breakfast, we suggest you spend the day at Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada, rent a kayak or canoe with Ahoy Rentals or join Kingston Food Tours and enjoy a delicious day on the town.

In the afternoon, visit the market in Springer Market Square for local shopping followed by a visit to Marble Slab Creamery and save 15% on regular priced items.

At night, treat your taste buds to dinner at Tir Nan Nog Irish pub and save 10%, or visit Harper’s Burger Bar – which was featured on Food Network’s You Gotta Eat Here!

Day Three in Kingston

This morning, check out of your hotel and visit Pan Chancho bakery for a light breakfast and take a walk along the beautiful Waterfront Trail.

This afternoon, discover the city’s captivating heritage and history on a 90-minute walking tour with Kingston Walks, or soak in the beauty of Lake Ontario and the 1000 Islands on the scenic Heart of the Islands Cruise with Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises before departing for home.
