Niagara's best summer festivals

July 26, 2019 | Samantha Lea

This summer, the CAA Savings Squad is hitting the road in the Niagara Region and making appearances at a variety of festivals and events throughout the community. If you see us out at the following events, make sure to say, “Hey!” and swipe your CAA card to win some of the coolest swag around.

Wing Fest

July 27-28, 2019
Rennie Park, Port Dalhousie

Facebook Page:

Attention all chicken wing lovers! Come out to Rennie Park in St. Catharines from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 28,  and help crown the ultimate Chicken Wing Champ. Enjoy all types of live entertainment, including music, ping pong competitions and an eating contest. Taste a variety of food favourites while you browse local vendors in the outdoor market.

The best part? All proceeds raised from the event will be donated to Community Care of St. Catharines and Thorold.

Tip: arrive early to find parking. Between wing-lovers and beach-goers, Port Dalhousie will be a busy spot. Your best option? Park at Jaycee Park and enjoy the short walk across the pedestrian bridge.

Canal Days

Spend your holiday weekend by the water at the 41st annual Canal Days in Port Colborne. With activities for the whole family, this year's Canal Days will feature a car show, buskers, and the always-popular concert series. On Sunday evening, enjoy a boat parade - you read that correctly, boats! - of lights followed by a spectacular fireworks show along the Historic West Street.

Tip: Take advantage of the festival shuttle, a free and convenient service offered all weekend to festival goers.
