Magic Kingdom is the best way to start your Walt Disney World visit. This park is full of magic and fantasy and these are the must-do’s and can’t miss attractions and snacks you will want to experience. With seven lands to explore, you will be sure to find something that will excite every member of your family!

In part one of this series, we'll be exploring the classic beauty of the Magic Kingdom with the must-do's in three of the seven lands. Stay tuned for part two!

Main Street USA

Cinderella's Castle in Disney's Magic Kingdom

Cinderella's Castle

The iconic landmark of Magic Kingdom Park, this serves as a great backdrop for those great family photos but is also the gateway to Fantasyland (you can walk right through the castle to get there!). While you’re inside the castle, don’t forget to check out Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, perfect for princesses and princes aged 3 to 12 who can get a royal makeover. The Castle is also home to Cinderella’s Royal Table where you can dine with the likes of Cinderella, Snow White, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora and Ariel. Reservations are required, so make sure you book these attractions ahead of time.

The Emporium

The best place to shop everything Disney! With different rooms for everyone’s taste, you’ll be sure to find that one - or two! - souvenirs that you can remember your magical Disney trip from.

Popcorn and Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars

There’s nothing more magical than sitting on Main Street USA with a box of Disney popcorn or a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar waiting for the parade! Waving to Mickey Mouse with a popcorn in your hand is what Disney dreams are made of!

Coordinating images: Cinderella Castle, The Emporium (from Disney Copyright) – perhaps personal photo of popcorn and/or Mickey Ice Cream bar.

Adventureland

Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disney's Magic Kingdom

Pirates of the Caribbean

This classic ride is great for any first-time visit! The swashbuckling pirates can’t wait to welcome you to their world, where you can catch a glimpse of Captain Jack Sparrow and his hearties. You’ll be singing “Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” before the ride is over! There is a small dip at the beginning of the ride but is quite mild.

Jungle Cruise

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to go on a cruise through the Nile, Amazon, Mekong River and African Congo? Look no further than the Jungle Cruise! From elephants to crocodiles and every animal in between, this is the best way to travel these rivers without having to travel too far. For a totally different experience, go cruising once during the day and once during the night.

Dole Whip at Aloha Isle

One of the best snacks on Disney property. It’s soft serve ice cream and comes in multiple flavours – from pineapple, pineapple swirl (a mixture of pineapple and vanilla) or orange swirl (a mixture of orange and vanilla). The possibilities are endless, and these hit the spot especially during the hot and humid summer months!

Frontierland

Splash Mountain at Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Splash Mountain

Need to cool off? This classic ride is the best place to do just that! It’s a log flume ride amped up, with characters and songs from Song of the South with multiple drops throughout the ride leading up to the biggest drop of them all – a 5-story drop into the Briar Patch!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

I call Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad the washer and dryer! They claim this is the wildest ride in the wilderness, and they were right! This zips and zags are fun and a mild thrill and will keep you coming back for more!

The Taco Bar at Pecos Bill’s

This taco bar has all the toppings you could imagine! You can really make Taco Tuesday (or any day of the week for that matter!) your own personalized way! You can add as much lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, salsa and sour cream you can handle! The tacos are a deep fried bowl shape so load it up!
