With the need to stay home right now, you’re probably looking for ways to keep busy. While road trips to your favourite attractions have been put on hold, you can always bring the fun home with a virtual experience. Check out some of our favourites below and enjoy some great weekend entertainment!

Stratford Live Watch Parties

Looking to take in a live performance? Well look no further. Stratford Festival (one of Ontario’s best theatre experiences) will be hosting a live viewing party every Thursday. Performances will run through April 15, are free of charge and can be viewed for 36 hours after the initial showing. If that’s not enough, you can also subscribe to their Stratfest@Home services and have instant access to their impressive library of content.

#MirvishatHome2021

As Canada’s largest theatrical producer, you can always count on Mirvish Productions. While we may not be able to make the trip to Toronto to attend one of their many shows right now, they are helping theatre enthusiasts relive some great memories. Whether it be a tour of one of their four venues or snippets from previous performances, the Mirvish team has been sharing content to keep the spirit of theatre alive. Check them out on Facebook and look for their posts that contain the hashtag #MirvishatHome2021 to enjoy them yourself!

AGO – Virtual Art Talks and Tours

If you’re someone who prefers the finer things in life, than this may be just for you. The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) has launched a new program to give you a more in-depth art experience. Not only will their Virtual Art Talks and Tours allow you to learn about their collection of galleries, you will also have the opportunity to engage in discussions with fellow attendees on each piece that is featured. This service is available Tuesday through Sunday and must be booked two weeks in advance. A maximum of 15 people can attend each session and a $250 flat fee is required per group.

Toronto Zoo | Zoo to You

The zoo is a place we go to learn, have fun and see our favourite animals. Covering 287 hectares, the Toronto Zoo is the largest in Canada. Although currently closed, it is bringing the Zoo to You. This online initiative not only provides you and your family with educational material, it also has a variety live video content that you can enjoy daily. Channel your inner animal lover and join their amazing Keepers as they connect you to the thousands of critters they care for.

Now you should be set set to enjoy some much needed virtual fun. When it is safe to do so, be sure to check out Journeys' selection of upcoming tours to see if we'll be visiting any of your favourite attractions!
