Moraine Lake Banff National Park

O’ Canada...What a place to be. As the world's second largest country, Canada provides so many things to see and do, including world-renowned structures and natural landmarks. Though you might not be able to travel at the moment, there are still plenty of ways to experience our beautiful country right from the comforts of your own couch.

We’ve searched coast to coast for virtual experiences that will make you feel like you’re on a much-needed vacation. Check them out below and have a great time, eh!

Whistler, British Columbia

An icey-good time in Western Canada

Whistler, B.C. is a natural gem. About two hours north of Vancouver, this town is home to Whistler Blackcomb – one of North America’s largest ski resorts – and Whistler Olympic Park, which hosted various events during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Whistler’s ice caves are perhaps the coolest attractions around and are only accessible by helicopter. Your journey will start with a flight that has remarkable views of western Canada’s wilderness and gives you a tour inside the glacier. With such a variance in the thickness of the ice, each cave is illuminated in countless shades of blue as light travels through their walls – making for a magical experience.

Banff National Park, Alberta

Canada’s oldest National Park

Less than a 90-minute drive west from Calgary is where you’ll find our next destination. Banff is a town within a national park that bares the same name. Situated in Alberta’s Rockies, this community is surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains, beautiful bodies of water and frolicking wildlife.

As is the case for most National Parks, Banff is perfect for outdoor activities – skiing, hiking, biking, kayaking, you name it. Finish off the day in a relaxing hot spring or pamper yourself one of many local spas.

Ottawa, Ontario

Hangout on The Hill

Our next stop is just a four-hour drive northeast of Toronto and our beloved nation’s capital. Though Centre Block is undergoing renovations, there is still plenty to see at Parliament Hill.

Or, get a 360-view of The House of Commons here. Take note of the remarkable attention to detail in the design that touches on events and inspiration from our country’s past – creating a true Canadian experience.

Quebec City, Quebec

Quebec’s quaint city

Quebec is nicknamed La Belle Province, and for good reason. Its appreciation for art, fashion and culture bring out some of the best experiences in Canada. Located near the narrowing of the St. Lawrence River, Quebec City, builds one of the best cases for this nickname. With a blend of French and English influences, Quebec City provides visitors with a little taste of Europe right in the heart of Canada.

As the capital of Quebec, the City offers a wide variety of bistros and boutiques where you can enjoy some fine dining and shop for some of the latest trends.

Nova Scotia

A masterpiece in the Maritimes

Finally, we make our way to the province of Nova Scotia. Located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, Nova Scotia is a strong source of Canadiana and a part of our country that everyone needs to see. Should you make your way out to these parts, you’ll want to visit the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

Since opening in 1908, it has become a popular tourist destination. With its collection of over 18,000 pieces by Canadian and international artists, and ability to host travelling exhibits, this gallery provides guests with the ultimate art experience.

Take a virtual tour of the Gallery and learn about some of the most wonderful works of art.
