Big Food Boost is Back: Helping FEED Niagara Together

Written by CAA Niagara | Aug 4, 2026, 2:05:08 PM

CAA Niagara’s Big Food Boost is back in support of FEED Niagara to help tackle food insecurity in Niagara.

Food banks in Niagara are facing more demand than ever before, with 24% of Niagara households facing food insecurity. The cost of living has been steadily increasing, making it difficult for individuals to keep up with everyday expenses. This issue doesn’t affect all of the community equally, but the increase in grocery prices are being felt by all.

Big Food Boost rallies Niagara to help their neighbours and support FEED Niagara in their mission to ensure no household goes hungry.

A Donation that Grows

From August 10- September 2, all of CAA Niagara’s branches will be accepting non-perishable food donations. This year, we’ve added the option for debit donations— a great option for those who want to give but don’t have a food item on hand.

To showcase the power of community support, we’re creating a Wall of Giving. at each CAA Niagara branch. With every donation, an apple with the donor’s name will be added to the Wall of Giving.

Across the apples read  “A donation that grows”—symbolizing how one act of generosity branches out helping the community in countless ways.  Donations will fill a lunchbox this season and give households the peace of mind of knowing where the next meal is coming from.
